Someone put out an APB for these former pop culture newsmakers:
New York – Seasons 1 and 2 of VH1 reality show Flavor of Love just wouldn’t have been the same without her. Who can forget the grating voice, trashy sewn-in weave and her mother, the wickedly scary Sister Patterson? New York gave real good t.v., so much so, VH1 blessed her with not one but three spin-offs, I Love New York (Real and Chance, anyone?), I Love New York 2 (Tailor Made, Punk and It) and New York Goes to Work. As one contestant for I Love New York put it, “New York is the most beautiful, ugly woman I’ve ever seen”. Where are you, New York? We miss you.
Star Trak – There was a time when one was hard pressed to find a song on the radio that hadn’t been produced by the Neptunes. From Jay-Z, to the Clipse and even Gwen Stefani, Chad Hugo and Pharell Williams were everywhere and music was all the better for it.
Master P – Make ‘em say, ugggggggggggggh, na na na na! While pics of his son traipsing about town with his heiress girlfriend are all over the web, New Orleans rapper Master P has scarcely been seen since his stint on Dancing With the Stars a few seasons back. Remember when he realized his dream of playing for the NBA? Check out the footage here:
MTV Diary – You think you know, but you have no idea. Back when MTV was still all about the music, this autobiographical series gave us a sneak peak into the lives of some of our favorite entertainers. I’ll never forget seeing the Diary of Aaliyah, filmed just days before her tragic and untimely death in the Caribbean. Diary showed us the human side of larger than life musicians as well as the daily grind of staying relevant in a finicky business. While we’re on the topic, who else would love to see the Diary of Chris Brown? (Everybody Hates Chris…Except for Me)
Missy Elliot – Oh, Missy. You made hip hop fun again. The leader in avant garde music videos of the late 90′s into the 21 Century, Missy Elliot set trends and dropped jaws. The last time we saw her was at the VH1 Honors. When are you putting out another album, Misdemeanor?
